“You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.”

~ Wayne Dyer

Think positive! The saying is a bit cliché, but sometimes we have to be reminded of the simple ways through stress. When busy takes over, you won’t always have control over what’s coming at you, but you will always have the ability to pause, prioritize, and look for the good.

As you navigate today, pay attention to what you’re doing well. You’ll no doubt notice there’s a lot of good going on, even if life feels a bit crazy.

Watch the video below for 3 Tips to stay productive and positive through it all, or read the transcript that follows.

Hey, Michelle Cederberg here coming to you from my rental car in a parking lot in Whitby, Ontario, about an hour before I have to present for a great group of people, so I thought I would do my video, here.

I’m going to be traveling an awful lot in the next couple of months, on planes almost every week until the end of October, so you might be seeing a little bit more of this kind of action as I bring you my weekly videos. And, as I head into busy, as always I’m a student of all that I teach, so I’m going to share reminders that I’m trying to embrace myself as I ponder, “how am I going to get it all done?”

When life is go go go go go, as it is for so many of us, we can tend to dwell on what’s not working, or how stressed we feel, or the things we’re not getting done, or how hard life is, just hoping and praying we get that moment of peace somewhere down the line.

Well, if your life is feeling as busy as mine is right now, here’s three reminders:

Number one, when life is busy, we do absolutely have to know what we’re saying yes to, and what we’re saying no to. Prioritize with great scrutiny so that you’re focusing on the wins that are going to get you through, the things that are most important that are going to get you through. And I will say that does include self-care.

I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to fit in the right amount of exercise over the next eight weeks when I’m not able to teach my regular cycle classes at home or I don’t have time to go for a long mountain bike ride. Number one, make sure that you’re prioritizing on the right things and make sure it includes self-care.

Number two, make sure that you give yourself a little bit of a break. The things that you’re doing, do them to the best of your abilities, and if you’re not getting everything done, that is ok. If you prioritize properly as in step one, then in step two if you can just do the best that you can with the things that you prioritized. That is a win. And I think that we will beat ourselves up because we’re not getting everything done. Well, ladies and gentlemen, we can’t do it all anyway so focus on the stuff that’s important.

And number three, as you’re going through busy, make sure that you do remember the good things that are happening in the midst of all of the crazy. We will tend to focus on the stress, and I’m telling you right now that when we focus on all of the good things that are happening, or at least take a look at them, we will realize that there’s a lot more of those ones than there is of the stress.

When we focus on the good things, it’s a reminder of why we’re doing what we’re doing. When we focus on the good things it helps us to see more good around us, and it helps to energize us through the tough spots.

I hope to be seeing a lot of different fun places across the country over the next eight weeks, so you’ll be seeing some messages from Fredericton, from Moncton, from Edmonton, from Lloydminster, from Vancouver, and from Whistler, which is super exciting, but super crazy cause I’m not going to see my hubby and my Lilly dog as much. But, I’m going to focus on the gratitude. I get to do this work that I love presenting for all of you, and I hope that you can find the good amidst the crazy in all that you’re doing.

Share this blog with somebody who might need a little bit of motivation, share your comments below with the things that you do to stay focused and positive when you’re busy. Don’t forget to watch last week’s video on good stress, because ladies and gentlemen, this is life! Follow me on social, and all I have to say is we get one chance to do this crazy life. I say dare to live it big and dare to live it with just a bit more gratitude. You guys rock! Until next time.
