“Sometimes it’s important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it’s essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow.”
~ Douglas Pagels, These Are the Gifts I’d Like to Give to You.
Like it or not, the holidays are upon us. I love this time of year but for many people Christmas is often described as dreaded or stressful. Organizing gatherings, shopping in crowded malls, cooking big meals, cleaning, wrapping, pleasing everyone (except yourself). If you can relate to this I’m talking to YOU.
You need some down-time don’t you? Well, take it. View this holiday season with the eyes of a child. Look for more opportunities to laugh, play and nap. Go ice skating, make snow angels, wrap your gifts imperfectly, watch your favorite holiday movies, sit and read a book, suck on a candy cane while you do.
If you don’t take the time for yourself do you think it will be handed to you wrapped up with a red and green bow? Heck no. It’s a week until Christmas. Do what you need to do, but also include some time to do what you want to do. It will come together just as it should. Now go out there and embrace the spirit of Christmas present.
Energy Now Tip #49: He knows if you’ve been bad or good, so skip naughty. It’s way more energizing to focus on being positive, kind and helpful instead. Not only that but a good attitude will help you navigate the holiday stress with greater ease and far more enjoyment. Ho ho ho YEAH!
