~ Milton Berle
Have you ever been accused of being too serious? It’s easy to let busy-ness and stress impact enjoyment of life, but how fun is that? I’m not suggesting we all turn into office clowns (they can be a challenge too), but why schedule all your fun for weekends or holidays? Whether you’re at work, at home, or out in the world, put on those rose-coloured glasses and find more reasons to laugh. Look for the humour in ordinary or difficult situations. When someone shares a good joke, pass it on. Laughter provides a great break from daily stress. In fact it could be your only link to sanity.
Joke: What do you call an Irishman who sits outside in the summer?
Answer: Patty O’Furniture
Ha ha! Well you try and find a good clean joke about summer that doesn’t offend anyone … well … except maybe the Irish.
Energy Now Tip #71: De-stress for success. Schedule down-time into your calendar. A few twenty to thirty minute open slots per day provide flexibility against surprises. If you do get caught off guard own your power. Remind yourself that you are in control of the events in your life. Choose a happy ending. (Chapter 9 – Stress Less for Success, pg. 170 Energy Now!)
