“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.”
~ Hamilton Wright Mabie
The holidays are upon us, and depending on what’s happening in your life at the moment, that can mean a whole lot of different things. I hope you’re feeling the blessings of the season, but if you’re not, and if stress is mounting, you are not alone. In this message I’m sharing my gratitude for you (along with a special shout out to one of my followers), and a reminder that will hopefully bring you a bit of calm and happiness.
Merry Everything to you and yours, and a very Happy New Year!

Several years ago, I bought this mug for myself and the three members of my mastermind. Adulthood is saying, But after this week, things will slow down over and over until you die.
It is that time of year where this message probably resonates with a lot of us. It’s the holiday season, and however you spend it, it can be a complicated time. It can be happy for certain, but it can also be stressful, and it can be a a sad time if you’re spending the holidays for the first time without someone that you love, or if you’re having trouble making ends meet, or whatever that might look like for you.
So I’m sending this loving holiday reminder as I shut down my office for the year to go with grace, to give yourself some grace, and to focus on the gratitudes of the year and the things that have worked well. I’m certainly focusing on that in my life and in my business. I want to send a thank you to all the clients who entrusted me. I across North America to come and do the work that I love.
I’m grateful that my husband’s knee surgery went well. He had a total knee replacement, six weeks ago, and he is a rock star. We’re going to have a quiet holiday at home. We’re not going to try and get out to every single invite. We’re not going to have big presents under the tree. We’re going to keep it simple with our meals.
How ever you’re planning it for yourself, do try to find those moments of quiet and calm because it doesn’t have to be perfect. If I were to draw back the curtain now, you’d see how messy my desk is and how unkempt the rest of my house is. But sometimes it has to be less than perfect so we can take a breath and enjoy the season for ourselves. Find those moments.
I am sending a special shout out to my friend, Hillary Ann, because I just received this in the mail today, a watercolor original she sent from Saskatoon, (see her on Instagram). We’ve only ever met once. She saw me speak at a conference back in 2017 and was going through a bit of a tough time because she was a brick layer, and had to close her business because of an injury.
The brick laying was something that her dear uncle had taught her, so she had that in her blood. She was an artist in that way. When she pivoted, she went back to a different kind of art. Watercolour! I mean, look at this. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The card she sent with lovely sentiments was a print of another piece hand painted by Hillary. She does flowers like nobody’s business. I want you to check her out on Instagram @hwatercolour23 because I am in love with this. I’m so appreciative Hillary that you took the time to paint me a Hillary original. It’s going to find pride of place in my office here. It’s the little things… although this feels like a big thing. I’m so appreciative of this today.
And, I’m appreciative of all of you. I’m looking forward to an exciting 2025, and I’m hoping however you spend the holidays, that you go with grace, that you give yourself those moments, and that you focus on the things that you’re grateful for, because it can be a tough time of year, and I’m hoping for all of us, it can be a lovely one, too.
Until next year, I’m Michelle Cederberg reminding you that in order to Ignite High Performance, we do have to step back sometimes and allow ourselves to lay low. Happy holidays to you and everyone that you care about.
