“Personality begins where comparison leaves off. Be unique. Be memorable. Be confident. Be proud.”
~ Shannon L. Alder
How much energy would you save every day…
…if you spent less time comparing yourself to others? We’ve all done it at one time or another. It’s human nature to ‘check-in’ with how other people are doing in their career, finances, health and relationships, and then gauge where we are by comparison. But there’s little upside.
When we compare ourselves to others we usually end up judging ourselves – “I should be doing better, more, different so I can be more like them.” Forget about them. Define what success and happiness looks like to you and then do what you know you need to do to get there.
Be a standout by doing things your own inimitable way. Focus on your own unique strengths and talents. Trust your own instincts to guide your efforts. There’s no better person for the job of you than you. Be confident in that!
