“Don’t be a time manager, be a priority manager. Cut your major goals into bite-sized pieces. Each small priority or requirement on the way to the ultimate goal becomes a mini goal in itself.”

~ Denis Waitley

Ironic isn’t it?  Last week the sense of overwhelm I was feeling prompted me to revisit some of my own philosophies.  Small steps to great gains…hmmmm.

Instead of adopting a bite-sized approach we’ll often procrastinate the seemingly insurmountable big goals only adding to the overwhelm.  “Now, not only do I have a big project to finish but I’m behind schedule!”

The first step is to get started.  Not with the goal of finishing today but for the momentum it will create on your path to completion.  You take on the challenges because you know you’re capable.  So quit worrying so much and take action instead.

The second step is small steps.  Small steps will bring far greater results than any amount of thinking, planning or worrying.  In fact, I believe the productivity you can gain from a small steps approach will be bigger than you think.  So don’t think…just get to it.
