“All progress takes place outside the comfort zone.”
~ Michael John Bobak

Like it or not.

In the fitness realm, the concept of overload means pushing your body beyond its capabilities so it gets challenged. The body adapts to the new level and get stronger. The same holds true for everything we do in work and life.

Yes, things will always get done eventually, even if you keep doing what you’re doing the way you know how to do it, but the ‘win’ won’t be nearly as satisfying… and true leaps in progress (plus a whole lot of breathless excitement) happen when you push your limits a bit.

If you’ve set a goal that doesn’t generate just a bit of fear, the goal probably needs to be bigger. And fear can be healthy. It means you’re stepping beyond what you believe you’re capable of…but that doesn’t mean you’re not capable. Surprise yourself. Set the pumped up goal, feel that fear, and do it anyway. BOOM…pumped up progress!
