Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better.~ Pat Riley

Where in your life do you want to do better? And, how do you energize yourself to achieve that? When life is busy we set self-care needs aside even though they’re the key to excellence.

Define what is important to you personally and professionally, so you can use those goals as a guideline for what you should say YES and NO to in your work and life. Then do what it takes to stay energized for what’s important.

Watch the short video below, or read the transcript that follows to learn what being Energized for Excellence means to me.

Hey, Michelle Cederberg here, coming to you from London airport …and that would be London, Ontario not London, England. I just finished presenting two sessions for staff at the University of Western Ontario. I was on the road last week as well, with a couple of great audiences in Edmonton and I’m on the road next week as well.

Today I was talking about getting ‘Energized for Excellence’, and one of the things that we talked about was the importance of setting goals personally and professionally, so that you have clarity about what you need to say “yes” and “no” to. I want you to think today about the things that you want for yourself in work and life, the things that are important to you that you aren’t spending enough time on, the things that are going to help you get energized for excellence at a higher level.

It could be your health, it could be your relationships, it could be how you’re saving money or how you’re spending time building your business. Anything that’s going to fill you up physically, mentally and emotionally. I don’t know if we take enough time for those types of things.

Today’s audience was fantastic in coming up with a couple of ways that they would get energized for excellence in all that they do, and so I put that challenge out to you. I get energized every time I get to do the work that I do. I got to meet some really awesome people in the last few days, including Myrna who was on my flight from Calgary to Toronto who recognized me because she’s on my mailing list. Hey Myrna, hope you’re having a good time on your trip with the photography class that you’re taking.

To Jill who I met last Saturday in the pub in Calgary, who has never seen me speak but has been getting my messages and she came over and said, “Hi.” Those things mean a lot to me every time I get to meet all of you. Here in London I got to meet some people who were wanting to be at my session in February, when it got canceled because of freezing rain. I’m sending today’s post out with gratitude, to all of you who make it easy for me to do this job that I love so much and it helps me stay energized for excellence.

What helps you stay energized for excellence? Think about that and leave messages in the post below.
