“Progress always involves risks. You can’t steal second base and keep your foot on first.”
~ Frederick B. Wilcox
Take a risk! I know it can be scary to step away from that comfort zone. Most of us don’t love change, especially because we rarely know how things will turn out. But there’s less chance of growth if you’re always playing it safe.
Ease your way out there by taking small steps away from what you know. Baseball players do it all time. They inch away from the base to test the environment before they make that mad dash to the next base. A work opportunity, a new exercise plan, that project you want to begin – one small step into it will give you a better perspective of your capabilities while staying in reach of the base. Just like that you’re on your way to scoring a run.
